Engaging the Inter-American Human Rights System

About the Project

This project tracks the evolution of the Inter-American Human Rights System, the regional system responsible for monitoring, promoting, and protecting human rights within the Organization of American States (OAS). Its principal organs (Commission and Court) have developed important jurisprudence that have stimulated change across the Americas and beyond, but also faced considerable challenges. Members examine the instruments and decisions of the system with a focus on their applicability in Canada, and develop clinical projects to engage directly with its organs.
