We are delighted to announce the upcoming launch of the International Law and Global Justice Initiative, a pioneering endeavor within the esteemed Lincoln Alexander School of Law. Our primary goals revolve around fostering justice-oriented scholarship and public engagement by bridging theory and practice. Embracing a comprehensive perspective, we take on an expansive view of “international law” and “global justice,” encompassing transnational law, comparative law, and beyond. Moreover, we are dedicated to bridging the gap between scholars and practitioners from the so-called “Global North” and “Global South,” promoting a diverse and inclusive dialogue. Our members are committed to engaging with law imaginatively yet critically and self-aware, acknowledging its potential to perpetuate colonialism, dispossession, and oppression. As a globally-focused initiative, we remain equally committed to making a local impact by collaborating with community groups, non-governmental organizations, advocacy initiatives, and government entities in Canada, seeking to address pressing justice issues faced by individuals and communities at home. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming fall launch of the International Law and Global Justice Initiative and invite all those passionate about effecting positive change to join us on this transformative journey.
