PROTECT The Right to International Protection: A Pendulum Between Globalization and Nativization
About the Project
PROTECT is a project funded by the European Union Commission’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) (https://protectproject.w.uib.no/). Idil Atak led the Canada-related portions of this project conducted by an international consortium of universities in the European Union, Canada and South Africa. In addition to the implementation of the United Nations Global Compacts on Migration and Refugees (2018) and their impact on the refugee protection system in Canada, the research team explores the collaboration patterns among local, provincial and federal stakeholders to address vulnerabilities of migrants, including refugees.
